World Cup 2010 Predictions: Group A
The first games from Group A will take place in the first day of the tournament.
The host South Africa will start first, with an opening game against Mexico. The game will take place at 15:00 BST.
The second game from this group would be between Uruguay and France and it starts at 19:30 BST.
France left off Karim Benzema, a talented young player currently playing in Real Madrid. Whether this will hurt France’s performance we are about to find out.
Here’s the analysis for the group and who’s expected to make it out of it, as well as the odds that BETFAIR.COM offers:

As you can see the host South Africa is taken as the underdog here. Personally I find this a great chance for us football bettors to make some money off it. While it’s going to be risky to take the bet for a group winner, I certainly believe South Africa will make it out of the group. Why?
What’s the last time a World Cup host didn’t make it out of the groups? I took the liberty to search around, and since 1930 (The first World Cup) there has never EVER EVER EVER been a host that didn’t make it out of the groups. Now that’s what I call good probabilities. So 100% of the time the host made it out of the groups and those sweet 2.96 look awesome.
In fact I will put some money on this bet, because I believe in history.
Mexico, has played well this year, and has reached the groups of the World Cup. They have the same chance to qualify as any other team in this group. The odds seem pretty good, so if you are fan put something on them.
Uruguay, is a team I am very unfamiliar with. I know just that they won the first World Cup ever and that’s about it. But as every South American team, I am expecting to be quick and skilled. The odds are quite high, but they do have the same chance to qualify in my opinion.
France is supposed to be the favorite here. First I think France isn’t what it used to be, and they are lacking of quality players at the moment. No to mention the fact that they left Benzema out of the squad, which would only hurt them. Although the logical outcome of this group would be France 1st, I would stay away from that bet, since the odds are quite low.
Always think risk-reward ratio first, before placing any bets. Do you have a favorite in this group? Share it with us in the comment section below. Here’s what I think will happen:
1. South Africa
